What is a
Mastermind?
A mastermind is an alliance of two or more
people who dedicate themselves to a specific goal. The members try to challenge
each other to create and implement goals, brainstorm ideas, and support each
other with total honesty, accountability, and mutual respect.
This concept was
introduced by Napoleon Hill, in the early 1900s in his classic book, Think and
Grow Rich. Mastermind groups offer a combination of brainstorming, education,
peer accountability, and support in a group setting- to sharpen business or
personal skills and spiritual gifts.
A mastermind group helps you and your community members achieve mutual success.
Participants challenge each other to set important goals, and more importantly,
to accomplish them. The group requires commitment, confidentiality, and
willingness to be creative and to brainstorm ideas, problems & solutions, and
support each other with total honesty, respect, and compassion. Mastermind group
members act as catalysts for growth, as both “devil’s advocates” and supportive
colleagues. This is the essence and value of a mastermind community.
A community is simply a group of like-minded individuals who hold the same set of values and belief systems. In the Kingdom of God, a community also submits to spiritual authority and is unified by corporate responsibility and accountability. What separates one community from another is one word: Culture. Your lifestyle, attitude, and belief system separate you from any other community.
A community looks out for one another’s needs, supports each other, and inherits the vision from God’s purpose in their region. The role of a community is to protect, preserve and develop the individual.
You are a product of a community and become just like the community that you are a part of.
Choosing the right community is detrimental to your future and to future generations. In a community, everything you do affects others. People cannot separate their private lives from their public lives. They must be one and the same. Accountability and transparency are necessary for you to flourish and mature.
