The Governor’s Nature Aligns With the King

The Governor’s Nature Aligns With the King

PictureImage by M from Pixabay
It is vital that we consider the Holy Spirit, our Kingdom Governor, in depth because although He is the most important person on this earth, He is also the most misunderstood and ignored. People who are not yet in the Kingdom of God don’t understand the Holy Spirit’s essential role in their lives. They have been led to believe that He is mysterious and unknowable. In many of the churches I attended down through the years, many thought He was some sort of entity or thing. He was called a “ghost” and that couldn’t be farther from the truth! The definition of ghost is the soul of a dead person believed to be an inhabitant of the unseen world or to appear to the living in bodily likeness. 1) The Holy Spirit was NEVER a human being and  2) the concept of a "ghost" is not real, contrary to what that the world may say!

King Jesus made it clear who the Holy Spirit was: “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:25-26

He is to GOVERN us. He didn’t leave us on our own! “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. John 14:15-18

I must say, even those who have received the Holy Spirit, our Kingdom Governor, have misconceptions regarding who He is. I blame religious leaders for that. As I mentioned earlier, some think that the Holy Spirit is a feeling, a thrill whose purpose is to cause a person to feel good and act in a way that is contrary to their nature. The Holy Spirit does not “take over” your body and cause you to jump and run around. Read John 14 again. The Lord Jesus told us what the Holy Spirit would do and what His purpose was. The Holy Spirit is not an “it”, “entity, or a “thing” and definitely not a “ghost”. The Holy Spirit is a “person” with a personality. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. John 16:13-14

He, along with King Jesus—the Word—are One with the Lord God. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. . . Genesis 1:26a

Note that in these scriptures where Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit, He always uses the word He. You don’t need to make a noise to experience the gift of the Holy Spirit. There are times when I am driving that I will wave my hand just to acknowledge His presence. You don’t need to blow a horn or beat a drum for His presence. If you read God’s Constitution carefully, you will find that most of the time when the Spirit manifested Himself, it was in quietness. The prophet Elijah had this experience:  Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 1 Kings 19:11-13

The Holy Spirit isn’t a feeling, but His presence can certainly affect your emotions as you experience His peace, joy, and comfort. So then, who is He? He is the Lord God extended to a person to work the purpose and will of His Kingdom in the individual’s life and circumstance. Now I would like to describe the concept of the triune of God, with a well-known analogy.

Take the three states of water:  liquid, solid and gas. God the Father is the eternal source. If you were to take water and freeze it, it would become solid ice, but it is still water. Let’s say that ice is like the Lord Jesus—the Word who became flesh—He was quite tangible while He was on this earth. He could be seen, heard and touched. Now if you were to take the same ice, put it in a pot, and heat it to boiling water, it would become steam. Steam is like the Holy Spirit, the invisible influence that generated power. Keep in mind that ice and steam can return to their original liquid state. Though they are in a different condition, with different purposes, they are still, in their original state, water. All three are actually water, although in different forms.

I truly trust that I have given a good analogy of how the Father, Son and Holy Spirit—our Kingdom Governor—are One. The Lord Jesus Christ cleanses us, the Father forgives us, and the Holy Spirit governs us as we live daily in His Kingdom.

Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in the Lord God’s Word in His Kingdom.

Kingdom 102: Honoring His Son in the Kingdom

Kingdom 102:  Honoring His Son in the Kingdom

PictureImagem de Reginangela--Flickr
When the religious leaders asked "How can a man be born again when he is old?", the Lord Jesus gave this response:  Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”  John 3:5-8

One of the reasons many can't understand the Kingdom or its concept, is that they aren't born again and filled with the Holy Spirit (the Governor).  The Lord Jesus made it clear:  Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”  Attending a church on Sunday morning will not cause you to be filled with God's Spirit.  You must embrace His Word and live by His principles each and every day.  Then He will give you what you need (the gift of the Holy Spirit). “If you love Me, keep My commandments.  And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.  I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."  John 14:15-18

Have you noticed that He said "if you love Me"?  Loving God's Son isn't lip service or going  to a church. If you love someone, would you only spend one hour a week with them? Loving Jesus Christ is being obedient and embracing His Father's principles. It is spending time in His Word. Then and only then will He give you the gift of the Holy Spirit to become conquerors, just as He did with those in the upper room. When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.  Acts 2:1-4

If you are half-stepping concerning the Word of God's Constitution, please save yourself the heartache of thinking you are going to receive God's precious gift of the Holy Spirit.  You can attend religious organizations "until the cows come home"; but if you aren't obeying His Word (God's Constitution) it is to no avail.  I am reminded of Samuel's statement to King Saul of his disobedience to the Lord God's command:  “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.  Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.” I Samuel 15:22-23   Obeying the Lord God's Word will reflect on those around you.  Walking in His principles will affect your behavior and certainly those in your family.

Remember, the Lord God sent His Son to reinstate us back to Him.  Now what does that mean for us?  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:17

To be saved, means to be reborn by the Spirit of God.  It doesn't happen by joining a church.  It doesn't happen by being a good person.  Remember what the Lord Jesus told the religious leader, Nicodemus:  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Unless you are born again, you can't even "see" the Kingdom. Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.”

When you embrace His Word, it will clear you on a constant basis from all unrighteousness.  Staying in His Word is staying in the Lord Jesus.  “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.  You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  John 15:1-4  The question arises, How do you honor the Lord God's Son?  To answer that, let me share the meaning of the word honor.

1.  To give high respect to, as shown for special merit;
2.  To show recognition or esteem to

So, how do you honor the Lord Jesus, the Lord God's Son? Remember what the Lord Jesus said to the religious leaders of His day: He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:  ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’" Mark 7:6

And here is another statement by the Lord Jesus:  For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son,  that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:22-24

Honor:  Obey, respect and esteem Him above everyone and everything in your life!

And always remember, that your greatest asset is your faith in the Lord Jesus the Christ.

Jesus was Consistent With the Kingdom Message

Jesus was Consistent With the Kingdom Message

PictureImage by Michael from Pixabay
Throughout His time on this earth, the Lord Jesus was consistent and focused in the Kingdom message. From start to finish, He preached and taught His Father’s assignment…God’s Kingdom. Even when the people tried to stop Him from leaving their presence, His focus was on God’s Kingdom. He knew His purpose for being there. Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; but He said to them, “I must preach the Kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” Luke 4:42-43 The Lord Jesus had a Kingdom mindset because He lived in a Kingdom.

The most important part of the Kingdom experience is the process of entering the Kingdom. Unless you know how to enter God’s Kingdom, everything else about the Kingdom is meaningless to you. So then, what do you do to enter the Kingdom of God and how does it work?

King Jesus never said “Seek Me first”. He never said that they should worship Him. He said, “Seek first the Kingdom”. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Matthew 6:33 He told us about the benefits of seeking the Kingdom. “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?  Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” Matthew 6:25-27 NLT

Again, remember, the Lord Jesus never said to seek Him first. He didn't make it about himself. Yet the church, for over 2000 years, has done exactly that. I say that with no disrespect for our Lord and King at all. But His purpose was to reintroduce God’s Kingdom government and give those who are seeking, entrance to it. All that comes with citizenship. If you want to attract people to the Kingdom, you must show them how and why the Kingdom of the Lord God is better than a religion. Prove to them that they can have benefits in your country that they cannot get in their religion. The church keeps speaking about Jesus and not about the Kingdom. Yet it was the Kingdom that He told us to teach and preach. And we wonder why people just aren’t interested. Our lives should show what life in God’s Kingdom looks like! Tell them that the King is the doorway into the Kingdom. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10:9

Keep in mind, Jesus isn’t the Kingdom, He is the King. He is also the Door into the Kingdom. He gives us entrance. Anyone who wishes to enter the Kingdom must go through the Door, which is the Lord Jesus. What that means is that you must accept Him as your Lord and King. You don’t draw people by telling them about your King. You draw them by informing them about the benefits of the Kingdom government and your life as a citizen: Your country’s benefits and quality of life—the promises of the King. King Jesus was consistent in speaking about His Father’s Kingdom.

The reason many individuals don’t know about the Kingdom is because their religious leaders aren’t preaching or teaching about the Kingdom. Those who are, aren’t clear or consistent about the Kingdom. Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Matthew 13:3-9

Also, when we speak God's Word, especially concerning His Kingdom, it get's Satan's attention. And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the Kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, so that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.’ ”

And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? The sower sows the Word. And these are the ones by the wayside where the Word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the Word that was sown in their hearts." Mark 4:11-15

There was one occasion where He compared the Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding feast that a King gave for his son.  And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’ But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.

“But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

“For many are called, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:1-14

Some time ago, my wife Arlene and I were speaking about weddings and how much I love the receptions. They have all kinds of festive food there! But in order for you to attend, you must be in proper attire, if you want to be accepted in. Jesus also made it clear that neither He nor the Kingdom did away with the law. “Until John the Baptist, the law of Moses and the messages of the prophets were your guides. But now the Good News of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is eager to get in. But that doesn’t mean that the law has lost its force. It is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest point of God’s law to be overturned.” Luke 16:16-17 NLT

Every since we have been assigned by the Holy Spirit to teach about the Kingdom government, we have always been focused and consistent on this message, and will continue until He tells us otherwise. Once assigned, be consistent and focused!

My question is, why aren’t people forcing their way into Christianity?  Because it is build focusing on a door, not on the Kingdom. Our perspective and focus was off. The Kingdom is beyond the Door. The Door is the entrance to an amazing Kingdom. Remember, Jesus told us that He is the Door. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10:9 Through Him, we will “find pasture”. A pasture is a place of nourishment, rest, peace, abundance, protection and contentment. That is the Kingdom.

Once you embrace the Kingdom mindset, you will always be consistent with the Kingdom message. It becomes part of your language, and more and more you will be speaking the words of your King.

Remember, your greatest asset is your faith in His Word.

Our Governor--The Holy Spirit--Has All Authority

Our Governor--The Holy Spirit--Has All Authority

PictureImage by Ernesto Rodriguez from Pixabay
Understanding who the Holy Spirit is and that He has been given all authority in His Kingdom is very important for Kingdom citizens to know. Along with authority, it is vital to understand His role. The Holy Spirit is appointed by the King, just as governors in Roman times were appointed to a colony. Jesus stated that He would ask His Father to give Him to us.

If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever” John 14:15-16 Note Jesus first said that if you love Him, keep His commandments—His Word. It is connected with receiving the Holy Spirit.

This emphasizes the importance of studying His Constitution in order for you to know His Will. We must get His Word IN us. The Holy Spirit is appointed to you as an individual to lead you so let Him lead! He leads and guides by God’s Word. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive Him, because it isn’t looking for Him and doesn’t recognize Him. But you know Him, because He lives with you now and later will be in you. John 14:17 NLT

The Holy Spirit comes from the Father God, nowhere else. He has the authority of our Lord and King. The Holy Spirit, as our Kingdom Governor, knows and understands the Kingdom. He intimately understands the heart, mind, desires, will and intent of the King and carries out the Kingdom purpose in His territory. We are His territory. We are His colonies. The Holy Spirit lives and reigns in us. Consider this:  The authority that the Lord God has given us, is through the Holy Spirit in us! We don’t have authority alone, but through the power of the Holy Spirit in us! Jesus said:  Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  Luke 10:19

The Governor represents only the King, no other nation or religion. He answers to no one but the One who gave Him that authority and assignment. He represents the King’s Will in your life. When you disobey the Lord God’s Word in any way, the Governor is grieved. Read what ambassador Paul stated to the Ephesians:  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

The Holy Spirit is responsible and accountable to the King only. As our Governor, the Holy Spirit is not in you to promote His own agenda. His words and guidance are only from the Lord God. So, when you see or hear religious individuals promoting themselves and their own agenda, you can know they aren’t following the leading of the Governor. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Philippians 2:3

Keep in mind, the Holy Spirit isn’t going to make you obey the King’s Word. You have to make that choice. He will assist and guide you, but it is your decision! It is His territorial assignment to oversee and facilitate the transformation of the colony in accordance to the character of the King and His Kingdom. The Governor—Holy Spirit—was given to us from heaven to sow those seeds into the culture of His citizens.

The Holy Spirit teaches us the Kingdom culture. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. John 14:26

Jesus told His disciples and followers not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there until they were filled with the Holy Spirit. And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-6

So they were obedient, gathering in the upper room, all of one mind in one accord, waiting to receive the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:1-4

Back in colonial times in the United States, colonization was for the purpose of conversion, changing one culture to another. It exchanged the culture of that territory for the culture of the ruling kingdom. Whatever happened in the kingdom was supposed to happen in the colony as well. It is the same with the Kingdom of Heaven and our Kingdom Governor—the Holy Spirit.

In converting a territory to a colony of a kingdom, the cultural values, nature, language and lifestyle changes as well. It is being transformed into the likeness of that kingdom. It is all a transformational process. That involves the body, mind and spirit. It requires reading and studying the ways of the King. It is intentional, not accidental. Then the Governor will assist you in your transformation. He will remind you often of God’s Word in the process. I can testify to the truth of that in my life! When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on His own but will tell you what He has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring Me glory by telling you whatever He receives from Me. All that belongs to the Father is mine; this is why I said, ‘The Spirit will tell you whatever He receives from Me.’ John 16:13-15 NLT

Religion has been a great deceiver when representing the Holy Spirit. They've called Him a ghost and relegated Him to barely more than entertainment to prove they "had good church", with people running and dancing. As long as people see Him that way, they will not come into the Kingdom authority that our Lord and King created for us through the power and authority of the Holy Spirit!

Remember, your faith in the King’s Word is your greatest asset in the Kingdom.
